Maharashtra NEET PG counselling 2026: what the 2025 rounds looked like
Maharashtra's state NEET PG (MD/MS) counselling for 2026 has not started yet. While you wait, here is exactly how far Maharashtra's own 2025-26 state counselling went: 8,674 state-quota allotments across 61 colleges, round by round, from Maharashtra's own published allotment lists. Last updated 2026-10-06.
Sources & method
- mcc.nic.in — official MCC NEET PG 2025 Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and stray vacancy allotment result PDFs, All India quota (retrieved 2026-10-01).
- State counselling authorities for state-quota data (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and 18 other states) — see each state's own guide for its specific source links and retrieval dates.
Method, in short: for each branch, round and category we take the highest All India rank among candidates actually allotted a government (All India quota) seat — that is the round's "closing rank" or "last seat". The "typical college" is the median closing rank across government colleges in that round. University-quota seats (DU, BHU, AMU and similar, reserved for their own graduates), deemed-university seats and DNB seats are counted separately and never mixed into the government-seat numbers above. Rounds included: Round 1 through the stray vacancy round, for every published category (Open, OBC, EWS, SC, ST). Candidates with no AIR printed in a source document, or quota types specific to one state with no MCC equivalent, are excluded rather than estimated.

Who is eligible
- 15% of State Quota seats are reserved for the Institute Quota; NRI candidates are eligible only for Institute Quota seats, 15% of each college's seats, and register separately (fn.mahacet.org) with their own fee.
- 20% In-Service Quota exists as a distinct reserved pool with its own merit list (ranked by a composite incentive score, not NEET score alone), for candidates already serving the state government.
- Only Maharashtra-state-format EWS certificates are accepted; the central-government-format EWS certificate is not valid for this counselling.
Honest limits of this data
- 445 Round 3 rows have no All India Rank printed in the source selection list (court-permission and some in-service rows) and are left out of these branch-level numbers; they are not evidence of a different closing rank, just missing AIR.
- In-service candidates' own merit-list score is a composite incentive score, not their NEET AIR, so in-service rows are counted by their AIR only where the general merit list independently supplies it.
