NEET PG closing ranks: sources and methodology

A closing rank is the All India rank of the last candidate allotted a seat in a particular year, college, course, round, quota and seat category. MANANEETPG compiles official allotment records into comparable historical groups; it does not issue an admission result.

Primary sources

MCC government, DNB and deemed seats are separate

The government summaries in the MCC branch and rank guides include MD/MS All India quota seats. University-specific quotas, including DU, BHU and AMU institutional quotas, are excluded from those summaries. DNB and deemed-university seats have their own columns; they are not counted as All India government MD/MS seats.

Category, PwD and round

Compare the seat category, not just a candidate's personal category. Our MCC public summaries distinguish Open, OBC, EWS, SC and ST, and exclude PwD records from these non-PwD examples. Reserved-category candidates may also compete for Open seats when eligible. A closing rank in one round is not the cutoff for every other round.

Last seat and typical college

Within each stated scope, the last seat is the highest closing AIR across colleges. The typical college is the median college closing rank, which often differs substantially from the last seat. A rank page counts colleges whose historical closing rank was at or after the selected rank. It does not assert current vacancies.

How the public college examples are selected

Each rank guide shows at most three distinct college/branch examples from aggregated 2025 MCC All India quota, Open seat category, non-PwD MD/MS records. For each branch considered, we select an observed closing rank at or after that guide's AIR, prioritizing the closest such closing rank across the four rounds. These are illustrative records, not a complete shortlist or a ranked recommendation. Candidate names and roll numbers are not published in these examples.

State quota is a different scope

State counselling may include government and private colleges. Domicile, MBBS location, institutional preferences, in-service rules and the state's own category definitions can change eligibility. A state-quota aggregate must not be presented as a government-only or All India quota cutoff. Each state guide states source-specific limitations.

Updates and corrections

Historical tables stay labelled with their source year. New round results are added only after an official publication has been processed; a pending result page is labelled as pending. We can make parsing or transcription errors. To report one, email [email protected] with the page URL, year, college, course, round, quota, category and a link to the official source. Do not send passwords or OTPs.

Always verify current fees, service bonds, eligibility and deadlines with the relevant authority before locking choices.
